A brainstorming session was held in an open courtyard, adhering to COVID-19 protocols. During the discussion, some organizations mentioned that they previously provided books to children for reading, which helped some students, but it required students to travel from their homes to the library every day. Another problem was the lack of space and its maintenance, which was the most challenging issue. To address this problem, Shri Gaushala Sirsa stepped forward, and its General Secretary, Shri Prem Kandoi, announced that Shri Gaushala Sirsa would provide the necessary space. Gurdeep Saini, with the trust of his team, took charge of organizing all the activities. On July 18, 2021, through the tireless efforts of Gurdeep Saini, Sitaram Khatri, Prem Kandoi, and Rajendra Kumar Ratusaria, the Baba Sarsai Nath Book Bank Welfare Trust Sirsa was registered, and the temporary address of the organization was given as the auditorium of Shri Gaushala Sirsa.
Along with all the members, many generous donors also contributed to laying the foundation, among whom the names of the late Chandra Mohan Ji Chadiwal and Shri Shyam Bajaj Ji can be prominently mentioned. A 13-member committee was formed for the organization, including two patrons, Shri Rajendra Kumar Ratusaria and Jayaprakash Ji, President Gurdeep Saini, General Secretary Prem Kandoi, Treasurer Sitaram Khatri, Senior Vice-President Shamsher Sharma, Vice-President Balwant Singh, Secretary Narendra Singh, Auditor Satish Mittal, Chief Advisor Saujanya Vimlesh, Legal Advisor Ashish Singla, Organizing Secretary Naveen Singla, and Publicity Secretary Fateh Singh Virk. On July 25, 2021, after a Havan Yagna (fire ritual), the book bank was inaugurated by lighting a lamp by the revered hands of Baba Sundarai Nath Ji, the Mahant of Baba Shri Sarsai Nath Dera. Baba Ji bestowed countless blessings and boosted our morale with his financial support. Following this, generous individuals from all sections of society contributed financially and donated books, giving momentum to this initiative. However, given the scale of this undertaking, these contributions proved insufficient. Therefore, the book bank purchased a large number of books with its own funds. Sitaram Khatri, Gurdeep Saini, Prem Kandoi, and Anil Saini made tireless efforts in this regard. Special thanks to Mr. Sanjay Mehta, the owner of Sanjay Book Depot, Sirsa, who provided invaluable assistance in every aspect.
The task of organizing all the books sequentially and ensuring that students received the books they needed was undertaken by Anil Saini, who joined the organization as a volunteer. From designing the application form to creating bundles of books according to the children's needs, writing the student's name on each bundle, and arranging them in order, and ensuring that each student received the correct books – all these tasks were his responsibility. Recognizing his tireless efforts, the organization inducted him as its 14th member and appointed him as Joint Secretary. The organization uses a standard application form to gather information about the children, their school, and verifies this information through a teacher to confirm that the student attends a government school and is currently enrolled, and to facilitate contact with the teacher for book returns. Students list the books they need on this application form. The book bank then prepares a bundle of books for each student and distributes them at a book distribution ceremony. Students are requested to return the books to the book bank after their annual exams so that they can be repaired and distributed to other students. This way, the books last longer. Our book bank continues to use the books as long as they are in usable condition and the curriculum remains relevant, repairing them as needed.
On May 6, 2023, the construction of 26 cow sheds was completed at Shri Gaushala Sirsa, a project funded by Shri Jagdish Rai Bansal of Juhu, Mumbai. Impressed by our work, he requested Shri Gaushala Sirsa to provide a separate room for our book bank, a significant step taken by Shri Gaushala Sirsa in our favor. This greatly helped us in organizing our books, but over time, our collection grew, and we accumulated a large number of books. These included competitive exam books, as well as books for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., M.A., B.Ed., C.A., LAW, B.Tech., HSSC, H.TET., C.TET., BANKING, and UPSC exams, all received through donations. Considering the need for more space, Shri Gaushala Sirsa once again graciously provided us with a dedicated building, including a hall, on a temporary basis for the book bank. Witnessing our work, the Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Nayab Singh Saini, visited our building on August 23, 2025.
Along with him, Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Public Works Minister Ranveer Singh Gangwa, Rajya Sabha member Subhash Barala, and Chairman of the Cow Service Commission Shravan Kumar Garg were present for the inauguration of the newly constructed building. Impressed by our work, the Honorable Chief Minister granted us a sum of ₹200,000 from his discretionary fund and assured us of his continued support for any future needs. To date, the organization has benefited more than 12,000 students in various subjects through its activities. Our organization, with the support of social workers and generous donors, also arranges for the distribution of shoes and socks, spectacles, and provides financial assistance for the education of underprivileged students.
The organization expresses its special gratitude to Mahant Shri Sundarai Nath, Shri Sanjay Goyal, Shri Ramesh Goyal Jalstar, and Dr. Surendra Malhotra, who have consistently supported us. Our organization has so far been visited by Sirsa Member of Parliament Kumari Selja, Dr. K.V. Singh, Superintendent of Police Mayank Gupta, ADC Virender Sehrawat, Pradeep Ratusaria, BJP District President Yatindra Singh, former Chairman of Land Reforms and Development Corporation Ashok Verma, Dr. Hari Singh Bhari, District Food and Supply Controller Surender Saini, District Education Officer Asha Kiran Grover, Yagya Dutt Verma, Atma Prakash Mehra, Buta Ram, Sant Kumar Bishnoi, SDM Jaiveer Singh, Chairperson of Haryana Women's Commission Renu Bhatia, retired DGP B.S. Sandhu, and others. The organization is flourishing in the premises of Shri Gaushala Sirsa, and is dedicated to the welfare of students, working diligently in the sacred dust of the cow's feet. This institution wishes all students a bright future.
